Eruption
Acrylic and oil on canvas, 111.76 × 152.4 cm., 2023.

A few words
The dual title reflects my evolving understanding of what lies beneath the image. The work initially suggested a volcanic eruption: an intense force breaking through the surface, carrying both destruction and the possibility of new life. Over time, I began to recognise something feminine within the forms—an echo of the uterus and its monthly cycles of release and renewal. The painting holds these energies together: geological and bodily, destructive and generative, erupting from an unseen interior.
