All Paths

All Paths began during a period of creative uncertainty. After years in law with little free time, I suddenly had time but did not know what to do with it. I had recently seen an exhibition by Sonia Gomes in New York, where she described art as a space for experimentation, much like science, and her practice as a form of play rather than work. Her words gave me permission to approach art more freely.

Sitting at the kitchen table with a set of coloured pencils, I began drawing intuitively, allowing each colour to lead to the next. This process eventually became All Paths: a large, vivid painting in which fields of colour resemble paths or rivers converging towards—or flowing away from—a central point. Hovering between landscape and abstraction, the work marked a fundamental shift in my practice towards experimentation, intuition and play.
